Renzo Viegas has been appointed as group deputy chief executive officer and head of consumer banking, CIMB Bank effective 2 April 2012. He was previously deputy managing director at RHB Bank. Viegas joined RHB Banking Group in 2008 as the group’s head of retail banking, responsible for consumer, commercial, hire purchase and insurance businesses. From 1984 to 2007, he played a variety of roles in Citibank, including as consumer finance and unsecured business head for the Asia Pacific region and as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Citibank Malaysia. Viegas is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has been trained as a chartered accountant.
